– a disappointment after such a strong first season, and this time, a poor imitation of the emotionally battering game. The showrunners have broken the story into parts, and this is Ellie’s arc. It’s short and feels rushed, the exact opposite of the game, which spends so much time character and world building that every next step fits the narrative perfectly. This introduces new characters and barely pays lip service to their motivations and histories, leaving Isaac and the Wolves especially underdeveloped. It also feels like it doesn’t take advantage of the incredible world which they’ve spent time crafting, with generic two cam talking heads shots and uninspired direction. Having said all this, I’m still so invested in Ellie – for all her increasingly obvious flaws – I’ll be back for Season 3 (and most likely 4, too).
