– that there’s been hype about this thriller, and that it has received fairly positive reviews from generally reputable publications, speaks volumes about the dire straits of the film industry at present (and the ongoing obsession with celebrity over quality). This is formulaic bargain basket stuff, vacuous and generally pretty tedious. I can only assume that every reviewer who described it as steamy would use the same adjective to describe the gentle misting on their wing mirrors on a winter’s morning.
