– thoroughly enjoyable neo-noir crime thriller with a novel (if silly) twist. John Sugar has such a calm and composed demeanour, and it’s refreshing to watch a character with moral rectitude, who looks for the best in people and aspires to self-improvement, too. He’s an unconventional detective, and all the better for it. He doesn’t drink, he doesn’t have a drug problem. He’s not on the cusp of retirement. He’s not in too deep or saddled with debts or a shady past. He’s just a quietly observant and genial guy, doing his utmost to solve a missing person case. Well, he’s not just that… Looking forward to season 2 later this year.
